On April 8th, the greenhouse will be open for faculty and staff members of Canton Public Schools for Canton FFA’s annual plant sale. Staff will get first pick on the different flowers and plants that the horticulture and Ag classes have been working on growing. Then on April 11th through the 13th the greenhouse will be open to the public to come and purchase the variety of different plants that are available.

“I enjoyed planting, watering, and watching all of the plants grow throughout the year. I also enjoyed getting to learn about the different types of plants and flowers we were growing, and how they all needed different amounts of water and sunlight. Then when it comes time for the plant sale it’ll be nice to be able to sell the things we have been working on throughout the school year and contribute to the FFA chapter,” Kasidee Pope, sophomore, said.

The horticulture and Ag classes have been working hard throughout the school year in the greenhouse, and now the plants they have been caring for are ready to sell. They have everything from vegetable plants to a large variety of flowers and foliage.

“Having the plant sale not only teaches students the nutrient needs of different plants to get them to grow to their full potential, but it teaches students marketing skills. This plant sale is a huge fundraiser to help students be able to go to leadership camps in the summer,” Mrs. Wood, horticulture teacher
