Coachella Is A Hot Mess

Coachella in Indio, California is known for its art, live music, fashion and its expensive prices. Due to Covid-19 Coachella was closed for two years but was reopened this year from April 15 through the 24th.

In 2019 over 250,000 people bought tickets to Coachella. This year 60 percent more people attended compared to 2019. 2 million tickets were sold although only 750,000 people were at the actual event.

This made several people mad, mainly influencers, who paid $549 to $2,33 for tickets only to not be able enter due to the capacity limits. Coachella had sold more tickets than the event’s capacity could hold.

Many influencers going to Coachella were not looking forward to waking up at 4 in the morning and waiting in lines for 3 or 4 plus hours.

Even with some influencers waking up this early, still there was not nearly enough transportation to get everyone where they needed to be on time. This was a major problem and caused a lot of people to miss out. People were having to pay as much as $60 just to get a mile up the road. There was also no wifi or data working in the area.

Food was extremely expensive. They were selling coffee for $20 and burritos for $40. Some influencers spent up to $12,000 just for the Coachella experience.

Coachella is not what it used to be years ago. It was easy, breezy, and boho. The people who went were there because they loved music. Now influencers go because they want to be seen in their loud outfits to get publicity.

Coachella now is more about fashion music. These Influencers are getting stylists or custom made outfits so they can hopefully be ranked as best dressed at Coachella.

Even with these stylists and custom made clothing people were not big fans of the fashion at Coachella this year. Many people thought influencers were just trying way too hard and looked like a gaudy Y2K mess.
