Nightmare in the Country Provides Heart Thumping Moments for the Whole Family

Saturday, October 15th I went to Nightmare in the Country, located in Woodward, Oklahoma. Nightmare in the Country is a haunted attraction that has two paths to choose to walk through, The Manor and Hallucination Alley. Before I went through the attractions, there was a person at the entrance to explain what not to do during the walk. The wait to get into each attraction was 15 minutes.

The first attraction that I walked through was The Manor. At first, I thought I was going to wet my pants because of the screams I could hear from people ahead of my group. I could feel the adrenaline build up slowly, but it went away slowly when we got up to the entrance. The walk through this attraction was 15-20 minutes.  It begins outside by walking on a trail to a building which leads inside.  Everyone has to walk through the building following the path. The scare wasn’t that bad to me, but I would be startled by people popping out of nowhere.

Hallucination Alley was different. The concept of this one was a mental hospital facility. It started in a building and halfway through I went outside for a small walk which led back inside. It was more intense and I kind of had to rely on my senses to get through because it was hard to see because there were either flashing lights or just dark.  It was also loud in general, there was loud music playing, yells from the scary actors, and bangs on the walls as I  walked by.

The reason it was more intense than The Manor was because the scary people would follow the group and try to scare me. They also had props that were loud like chainsaws. Overall, it was nerve-racking but fun to get through.

I would definitely recommend going to Nightmare in the Country if you’re looking for an adrenaline rush or just want to have a good time with your friends. I would also recommend going in a group of four to six people. You can get your tickets at the location or online. If you want to go to one of the haunted attractions, it is $15 per person or with a dual ticket, it is  $30 per person. If you’re the person who wants to skip the line, you can get a fast pass for $25 for one attraction or get the dual fast pass for $50.
