Canton High School has decided to continue the after-school program for junior high and high school students to get help with their homework.

The after-school program received a federal grant for $229,000. The grant is guaranteed for five years. This year is the second year that Canton high school has used the grant. The grant is called the 21st Century grant.

Teachers have volunteered to stay after school to help the students do their homework and study for upcoming tests to help raise their grades. Among these teachers is Ms. Keefer, who is instructing students in STEM. This week they made “molecules”.

“I like going to the after school program, because it is fun, and I do not have to take homework home,” said Giselle Sleeper

After they finish their homework, they will get to participate in activities such as, science experiments, crafts, cooking, and going to the gym.

“I go to the after school program so I can get my homework done, and have fun.” said Erica Moldrup.

Mrs. Haub is teaching cooking and they will learn about nutrition. They will also learn how to cook with fruits and vegetables.

Students can sign up in the office for the after school program. Transportation is provided.
