Bryan Cox is a math teacher and the assistant principal at Canton High School. Mr. Cox started teaching at Canton High School in 2010. Mr. Cox chose to teach math because the answers are either right or wrong. There is no grey area in math. His favorite kind of math to teach is Algebra. He likes algebra because in algebra each equation is like a puzzle. It is just putting the pieces in place. Mr. Cox likes teaching because he likes to see the kids interact and solve the questions together. The part of teaching he dislikes the most is the discipline.

Mr. Cox was born in Thomas, Oklahoma, and raised in Canton, Oklahoma. He attended elementary and high school at Canton. Mr. Cox graduated from Canton High School in 1981. As soon as he was out of high school he went to Southwestern and majored in Computer Sciences, but later changed his major to math.

Mr. Cox has been a cancer survivor for five years. When he was asked what he would change his name to he answered, “I am pretty happy with my name, I would not change it unless I got all of the money that came with the name I picked.”

His favorite movie is “Support Your Local Sheriff.” Mr. Cox also knows all of the lyrics to the song “So What” by Pink. In six words Mr. Cox was described as serious, courageous, thoughtful, awesome, funny, and smart.
