On Thursday, November 30, members of Canton FCCLA will be traveling to Woodward to compete in the Star Event District Competition, hosted by The First Baptist Church of Woodward

Jayden Mosqueda will be competing in the cupcake decorating competition. The theme will be “Under the Sea”. She will have to design twelve cupcakes that relate to the theme.

Samantha Mceachern will be competing in the recycle & redesign category. She will be using the material to redesign a new piece of clothing. She will be taking boots and recycling them into a purse. She will have to have a board showing all of the steps that it took to create the purse.

Courtney Thompson and Ally Nix will take part in the life event planning category. They will plan a family reunion for Ally Nix’s family. They will also have a board presentation that they will present to judges.

Sabrina Gaines will be competing in the career and investigation category. She will be making a binder that explains what she wants to do for her career. She will present this binder to a panel of judges.

Alyssa Sutton will be taking the new members’ facts test. She will have to answer a series of questions about FCCLA.

Alicia Luna created a children’s book on a website called bookcreator.com and she will be presenting her book to judges.

“I want to investigate, and learn more about my career,” Sabrina Gaines, Sophomore, said.

“I think it makes a better chapter when you offer lots of avenues to learn from,” Mrs.Haub, FACS teacher, said.
