NHS Induction

The 2017-2018 National Honors Society induction was held Monday night in the Canton High School library at 6:30 p.m.
The group had 10 members returning and 14 new members, consisting of 10 seniors, 4 juniors, and 10 sophomores.

National Honors Society (NHS) is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS  recognizes those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921. NHS chapters are found in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, many U.S. territories, and Canada.

Students must have and maintain a 3.25 GPA, sign up for five volunteer hours, and pay $20. If any student’s GPA drops below a 3.25 or if they get suspended, then they must appear before the faculty council for review to determine membership in NHS.
