Canton Tigers Lose To Hammon Warriors in Dewey County Tournament

On January 13, the Canton Tigers traveled to Leedey to play their final game in the Dewey County Tournament. The Tigers were assisted by three freshmen: Cody Conrady, Brooks Martin, and Ethan Foster.

The Canton Tigers coach, Coach Rich became sick over the weekend and could not attend the game. The Tigers were coached by Coach Baldwin in their last game. Also, player Johnie Burton was unable to attend as well.

At the beginning of the game, the Tigers were able to get the ball and dribbled down the court. While the Tigers were running the offense the ball was stolen and the Warriors were able to make the layup.

During the second quarter, the Tigers were unable to stop the Warriors from scoring. However, the Tigers were able to get a few points on offense.

At the beginning of the second half, the Tigers were behind the Warriors by about 14 points. The Tigers, however, were able to steal the ball a couple of times, but still could not stop the Warriors on defense.

During the final quarter, the Tigers were unable to score and the first team was subbed out for the second team. The Tigers’ second team was able to stop the Warriors from scoring a few times, but the Warriors were able to score a few times.

The final score of the game was Canton Tigers 14 and Hammon Warriors 53. Despite their loss, the Tigers played their hardest in the game.
