The Canton Lady Tigers won three straight games in the regional tournament to advance to the area tournament.  The first game was against Kremlin-Hillsdale.  The Lady Tigers took the lead with a three-pointer from Haylee Nusz and never lost the lead.  The final score was Canton 39 and Kremlin-Hillsdale 19.

The second regional game was against Beaver.  It was a very physical game.  The Lady Tigers got into foul trouble, with two starters fouling out of the game in the fourth quarter, however, the Lady Tigers came out on top with a score of Canton 68 and Beaver 51.

The third game against 10th ranked Shattuck was a battle.  It was a physical game with players from both teams getting hit in the mouth and elbowed in the side of the head without fouls being called.  The Lady Tigers led at the end of the first, second, and third quarters by 9 or 10 points in each.  However, in the fourth quarter, the Lady Tigers ran a stall offense and only scored 2 total points in the quarter. The Lady Tigers struggled at the free throw line in the fourth quarter.  However, those 2 points ended up being enough as the Lady Tigers won 42-40.

The Lady Tigers will play in the first round of Area on Thursday, February 22 at 6:30 in Enid. They will play 5th ranked Canute.  The Lady Tigers will need to win three straight games to qualify for the state tournament.
