Friday the 13th movie cases lined up.

No movie has had more suspense and gory murders than those of the 1980-1989 film franchise Friday the 13th. The movies center around seven camp counsellors and the killer we all know and love, Jason Voorhees. These eight original horror movies bring the suspense, horror, and a couple of heated moments as well. This slasher movie produced by Sean S. Cunningham has gotten five award nominations, but did not win.

These movies show the counsellors’ perspectives throughout the entirety, keeping people on the edge of their seats when a camp counsellor is lurking behind a corner. The constant fear and worry if these counsellors will get out alive keeps the thrill and suspense throughout the whole movie.

Although the special effects and the music are a bit cheesy for our day, it was extremely advanced when it was released. Some people may be a bit sensitive to these types of things, so this movie is may not be their forte, but for the stronger stomached, it is perfect. The movie features anything from cutting off a counsellors head to getting pitchforks pierced through the counsellor’s abdomen, this movie has everything anyone could ask for in regards to gore.

Besides the gore, as if that was not scary enough, the movies can be downright eerie. The creepy music and all of the quiet moments sneaking around Jason are enough to make anyone shudder. There are also enough jumpscares, loud noises, and creepy music to terrify almost anyone.

Friday the 13th is great for people who like a suspenseful horror movie filled with a lot of gore and death. It may seem a bit intense, but it is easy to get transfixed on the counsellors as they try to escape the campgrounds alive. Out of five, I would give these movies a four.
