This book is about a girl named Willa, who is trying to figure out why strange things keep happening in her home, and who is behind all the murders happening around town. The author, Katie Alender, is able to capture the gut wrenching suspense and mystery and put it into the words of this book.

The book’s point of view is through Willa’s perspective and thoughts when she sees creepy visions around her house and writing sprawled across the walls. There is also a killer stalking around town who seems to have a few connections to what she is seeing in her house, which makes her all the more curious. Willa wants to be able to confide in someone, but she does not know who she can trust.

The suspense keeps the reader hanging onto every line, making the book hard to put down. The perfect sense of urgency laced into the words keeps the book moving at a good pace without being rushed. The way that Alender writes about the characters makes it easy for the reader to create relations, and to elevate emotions when something happens 4to the characters.

Famous Last Words is a great read for anyone who likes suspense/horror books. This book will keep anyone on the edge of their seat and leave them satisfied at the end. Out of five stars, I would give this book four and a half.
