Snow covers the outdoors in front of the school.

On November 12, around four inches of snow fell. This first snow accounts for half of the average nine inches Canton gets for the whole year. The snow was favored by the students, causing school to cancel. However, many adults still had business to do.

Most children like the snow, because school would be canceled and they would be allowed to go outside and play. The traditional snowman and snow angel are made in a clear spot of freshly fallen snow, strung out around the yard. A fierce snowball fight had also occurred in amongst the outdoor activities. Whether it was a fair game or a couple of dirty tricks were played, those are where the most memories were made during the winter season.

Even though the children enjoy the frosty weather, many adults do not. Unless their roads are blocked, adults still have to go to work. Adults still have to pay bills and live their normal everyday live. They do not get a break from the low temperatures and bad weather. Instead, they have to slide through slick roads and risk getting stuck in the mush. Even though, the snow creates a scenic drive, it is not the favored weather condition for travel mother nature has to offer.

Although these are the average responses, adults can like snow and children can hate it. This time of year is, however, one the most cheerful times of the year due to the holidays. While many children’s and adult’s thoughts on this weather generally differ, they both can agree that the view that the snow offers is one of the most beautiful of the year
