Tigers Beat Comets By Forty Points

On November 20, the Canton High School boys basketball team played their first game of the season against the Hinton Comets. At the beginning of the game, the Tigers won the jump and started on offense with the Tigers scoring the first points of the game. The Tigers, on defense, stole the ball and made the following fast break.

In the second quarter, the Tigers started on offense, driving through the Comets’ defense and scoring. On defense, the Tigers were able to stop the Comets offense and steal the ball. The Tigers on offense were drawing fouls when driving, and would make the following free-point shots.

After half-time, the Tigers started on defense stopping the Comets’ offense, however, the Comets were able to get past the Tigers’ defense and score, slowly catching up. On offense the Tigers were able to make a few jump shots. On defense, the Tigers held off the Comets from scoring until the quarter ended.

In the final quarter, the Tigers started on offense. The Tigers drove through the Comets’ defense, gaining the lead in the game. On defense, the Comets started drawing fouls, slowing catching up. However, on offense, the Tigers were able to draw fouls, but were not able to make all the following free-point shots.

The final score was Canton Tigers 74 and Hinton Comets 34. The Tigers’ next game is against Watonga on Tuesday, November 27.
