Tigers Victorious Against Watonga

On November 27, the Canton Tigers started their second game of the season against the Watonga Eagles. At the beginning of the game, the Tigers won the ball from the jump, but it was stolen and the Eagles scored a fast-break. On offense, the Tigers passed the ball to Josh Edwards, who made a jump shot, scoring the first points for the Tigers. On defense, the Tigers worked the Eagles’ offense, making them turn over the ball.

In the second quarter, the Tigers started on offense. The Tigers started driving into the Eagles’ defense, drawing fouls. The Tigers, however,  missed most of their first free throws in the quarter. On defense, the Tigers started getting their first fouls in the game. The Tigers, however, kept their defense up not allowing the Eagles to score or drive to the basket.

After half-time, the Tigers started on defense, they held off the Eagles from driving to the basket and scoring. On offense, the Tigers drove to the basket drawing fouls. On free throws, the Tigers made most of their shots. Near the end of the quarter, Tiger 23, Weston Waldrep, fouled out.

In the final quarter, the Tigers started on offense, looking to drive the ball to the basket. On defense, the Tigers started fouling the Eagles. However, the Tigers would make up for their fouls on offense. Near the end of the fourth quarter, Tiger 5, Deonte Murray, fouled out.

The final score was Canton Tigers 53 and Watonga Eagles 47. The Tigers’ next game is on Friday, November 30, at Ringwood.
