Saving+the+Country+by+Surviving

Every year during the State of the Union address, the President of the United States delivers his speech to every important member of  the United States government, well everyone except for two people. The two people who are not at the State of the Union are known as the designated survivors. There are designated survivors just in case something horrible happened and most of the government was destroyed. In the gripping political drama, Designated Survivor, the horrible does happen.

Tom Kirkman the secretary of HUD (Housing and Urban Development) who is played by Kiefer Sutherland is swiftly placed in the Oval Office. Kirkman is placed here because while the President is delivering the State of the Union, a series of bombs go off and topple the capitol and also the government.

As soon as Mr. Kirkman is sworn in, he has to take care of some extremely important problems. This fast start sets the pace for the rest of the series. In every episode there is something important happening so this is not a good show to watch when tired, because missing one small detail can greatly impact a viewer keeping up with the story line..

This series is perfect for anyone interested in political dramas, or crime shows. Also, the actors who portray the important characters are great at what they do. This show is one that gets the viewer reeled in from the very start and keeps them hooked the whole time.
