Christmas Chicken and Noodles are a Family Tradition
Christmas is the best time to look forward to, with gifts, family, and most importantly my aunt’s chicken ‘n’ noodle soup.
Fresh herbs combined with tender chicken, tie together with a mouthwatering broth and a hint of black pepper to make it amazing. Though this meal takes about two hours to make, it is definitely worth the wait.
My aunt, Julie Schmidt, started making chicken ‘n’ noodles about six years ago with homemade noodles a quarter of an inch thick. Lengthwise they are about as long as a dollar bill, and a width of a pinky.
After the noodles are made, she works with the broth. The broth consists of chicken broth, parsley, bay leaves, carrots, and other herbs and spices. The goal for the broth is to make it smooth.
