On Wednesday, December 5, six Canton FCCLA members went to compete at the North District 1 Star Events in Fairview, Oklahoma.

Leah Vowell won first in new members facts. Samantha McEachern won third in Recycle and Redesign. McKenna Penner and Kenidi Humbargar won first in Illustrated Talk.

“Competing was fun and I recommend that other people to do a Star Event,” Leah Vowell, eighth grader, said.

To move onto the Regional Star Events the competitors have to score over an eighty. McKenna Penner and Kenidi Humbargar, and Kalissa Wile and Alyssa Sutton will be going on to Regionals. Regionals will be held in February of 2019.
