Students from Canton competed in the FFA and 4-H Canton Local Show on February 2. The show was judged by Clinton FFA Advisor, Keith Miller.

Grand Champion Ewe was shown by Emma Hoffman. Reserve Grand Champion Ewe was shown by Hannah Hoffman.

Grand Champion Doe Goat belonged to Amanda Schoonmaker. Reserve Grand Champion Doe went to Clair Elder. Grand Champion Wether was shown by Kamdyn Hulse. Reserve Grand Champion Wether belonged to Amanda Schoonmaker.

Grand Champion Breeding Gilt was awarded to Daylon McNabb who showed a chester. Amanda Schoonmaker took Reserve Grand Champion Breeding Gilt with her berk. Grand Commercial Guilt went to Blair Dowell. Kamdyn Hulse was awarded Reserve Grand Commercial Guilt. Supreme Gilt went to Daylon McNabb. Reserve Supreme Gilt was awarded to Blair Dowell. Weston Waldrep showed the Grand Duroc. Reserve Grand Duroc went to Kenadie Weber. Seth Bromlow won Grand Hamp with Will Blood taking reserve. Grand Cross went to Sam McEachern. Reserve Grand Cross went to Weston Waldrep. Grand Champion Barrow was awarded to Levi Shaw. Reserve Grand Champion Barrow went to Kamdyn Hulse.

Weston Waldrep won Grand Champion Charolais. Grand Champion Charolais was Josh Edwards. Grand Champion Chi went to Wyatt Elder with Claysen Scott taking reserve. Grand Champion Maintainer was Amanda Schoonmaker. Reserve Grand Champion Maintainer went to Jake Sinclair. Amanda Schoonmaker took Grand Champion Red Angus, and Kyla Withers took reserve. Jake Sinclair won Grand Champion Shorthorn. Grand Champion Shorthorn Plus went to Nate Lang. Reserve Grand Shorthorn Horn plus belonged to Courtney Thompson. Grand Champion Breeding Heifer went to Weston Waldrep with his Charolais.  Reserve Grand Breeding Heifer went to Josh Edwards with his Charolais Composite. Grand Champion Commercial went to Taylor Dowell. Blair Dowell took Reserve Grand Commercial Heifer. Supreme Heifer went to Taylor Dowell who showed a commercial heifer. Reserve Supreme Heifer went to Weston Waldrep with his Charolais. Grand Prospect Steer was Taylor Dowell. Reserve Grand Prospect Steer was Amanda Schoonmaker. Grand Market Steer went to Hudson Scott.

Canton also hosted a trophy auction. FFA kids contributed handmade items to be sold. In total, the trophy auction raised $24,000. This is the highest amount of money the trophy auction has raised since ag teacher, Don Mitchell has been at Canton.
