On April 2, members of the high school academic team traveled to Mooreland for the Northwest Oklahoma Academic Conference. Canton was awarded second out of seventeen teams. They narrowly missed winning first, after three tiebreakers decided the winner.

Team captain, Jared Cox, was named an academic all-star. He was also the second highest scorer over the whole conference. This year they missed going to state by only one game. “I am very proud of our team. If they can stay together, I am expecting great things from them next year,” Brian Cox, coach, said.
