Culinary Classes Make Pumpkin Pie
On October 9, 2019, Mrs. Haub’s culinary class all made homemade pumpkin pies and roasted pumpkin seeds. The students also got to carve their pumpkins after all the insides were removed.
The students began by picking their pumpkins and removing all the seeds and insides. After that, the students would separate the seeds from the inside and rinse the seeds, and then put them on a pan so they could dry. After the seeds were dry, the students then mixed the spices with the seeds and baked them.
The mixture with all the pumpkin insides was baked and mashed into a separate mixture with sugar and spices. Then, the students poured the mixture into mini pumpkin pie crusts and baked them.
