For the third game of the season, the Canton Tigers traveled to Hinton. At the beginning of the game, the Tigers lost the jump, however, the Tigers were able to steal the ball from the Comets, and make a jump-shot. On defense, the Tigers were able to stop the Comets and steal the ball. On offense, the Tigers were able to get a few points from fast-breaks.
In the second quarter, the Tigers’ defense held strong against the Comets. On defense, the Tigers were able to stop the Comets passing the ball to the posts, and the Tigers managed to shut down the Comets from shooting three-pointers. On offense, the Tigers were able to knock down three-pointers and make jump-shots.
After half-time, the Tigers started on defense. The Tigers, on defense, were unable to stop the Comets from driving to the basket, and were unable to stop the Comets from shooting three-pointers. On offense, the Tigers were unable to make fast-breaks. The Tigers, on offense, moved the ball trying to get an open shot.
In the final quarter, the Tigers started on offense. The Tigers tried holding the ball, however, the Comets started pressing the Tigers, getting jump balls, and turnovers. On defense, the Tigers were unable to stop the Comets from scoring, but were able to steal passes and make fast-breaks. Cody Conrady, #10, was able to make four three-pointers in the final minutes of the quarter, securing the Tigers’ victory.
The final score of the game was the Canton Tigers 50 and the Hinton Comets 47. The Tigers next game will be on Monday, December 9, against the Fairview Yellow Jackets.
