The Touchdown Club announced that they are going to do a parade for Homecoming on Thursday, September 10, at 7:00 pm. The theme is “Tiger Pride- Black and Orange”. They invite every elementary grade to throw on their best black and orange outfit and walk or decorate a bike and ride in the parade.

“I think homecoming is a great way to create and maintain school pride. Students who participate in the creation of the floats for the downtown parade will be rewarded with a sense of accomplishment.” Patrick Rich, coach, said.

The junior high classes (7,8,9) can choose to decorate a golf cart, ATV, and side by side. The Touchdown Club will give $100 to each class for supplies.

The high school (10,11,12) can decorate a trailer up to 16’. The Touchdown Club will provide $200 for supplies.

The floats will line up at the Community center and follow the same route as the Walleye Rodeo Parade. They will turn north at the four-way and park in between Broadway and Washington.

“I think it’ll be something different and fun we can do, and the themes are all going to be really cool,” Taylor Dowell, senior, said.

ll floats must be built and decorated after school hours and not on school properties and it is not mandatory for students and teachers to build a float. There will be a Pep Rally following the parade at the football field. The Touchdown Club is giving the winners of the junior high and high school floats a pizza party.

“I think it’ll be a fun experience,” Emma Hoffman, freshman, said.
