On Friday, August 28, the Tigers played their first game of the season against Okeene. This game was also senior night.

The Tigers started the game on offense. Unable to stop them, the Tigers drove the ball into the endzone on the first possession. Okeene was unsuccessful on their first drive due to penalties and a strong Tiger defense. The Tigers managed to punch the ball into the endzone one more time in the first quarter.

The Tigers started off the second quarter on defense and held strong. Okeene was not able to make a touchdown the second quarter.

The Tigers started out the second half by kinging the ball off. The defense did their job and held Okeene’s offense. The Tigers made a touchdown late in the third quarter to make the score 20 to 0.

Neither team was able to score in the fourth quarter. After the time on the scoreboard hit zero, both teams said, “Good game,” to each other while following protocol and not shaking hands after the game.

The score at the end of the game was Canton 20 and Okeene 0. This was the first time Canton has beat Okeene since 1999.
