At Meet the Tigers, Coach Howell has high hopes for the season.

For the first time in 10 years Canton football team has started out 3-0. The first game they played was against Okeene. The score was 20-0. They then played Geary and won 56-18. The most recent game they played was against Beaver, The final score was 49-0.

The head coach of this team is Caleb Howell. Howell was a player for Canton 10 years ago, when the team had its last 3-0 start.

In high school Howell played multiple positions including running back, receiver, safety, and kicker. After college at Southwestern, he was a junior high football and basketball coach at Yukon Middle School for two years.

“I think so far, the most exciting moment coaching for me was our season opener against Okeene. Beating Okeene for the first time since 1999, and to shut them out on our field. I could not have been more proud of our players for coming out and representing our town and our school with great pride against a long lost gridiron rival.” Howell said.

This Friday Canton football team will be traveling to Ringwood in hopes to snap a 9 season losing streak against the Red Devils.
