Penny Drive Winners Announced

This month, in honor of the pink out football game, student council held a penny drive. Every penny counted for one point and silver coins were negative points. The goal was for classes to get the most points and raise the most money.

The winners of the penny drive were the juniors and the freshmen. They celebrated their win by having a pizza party at lunch on November 10th.

“It was really good winning a pizza party, but it was nice knowing that the money we raised was helping other people.” Hopelin Hood, junior, said.

Overall, the students raised $851 from the penny wars. The money raised went to the Stephenson Cancer Center.

The students also bought items for Tenaciously Teal. Tenaciously Teal is a nonprofit organization that gives care packages to people going through cancer treatments.
