That’s Creepy, NO, Its an Elf on the Shelf

!!Warning This Article Has A Spoiler Alert!!

Around Christmastime, families do something called the Elf on the Shelf.

The Elf on the Shelf originated from a book published in 2005 by a mother and daughter. It is about how “Santa” sends an elf to come and watch over children and make sure that they are being good little kids like they’re supposed to be, even though parents have already said he “knows when you are sleeping and knows when you’re awake,” but Santa needs a little bit of help.

“I really like having an Elf on the Shelf. It’s funny seeing all the ways my parents try to hide her. Elfina sometimes brings us stuff, we are really hoping she brings us Subway one of these days,” Kenzi Nix, junior, said.

Well long story short, parents move the elf around and say that the elf moves on its own. There are groups on social media that parents can go to and get ideas on how to hide the elf and how to make it look real.

“Sometimes our Elf on the Shelf does stuff like gets out the flour and makes angels. He gets us stuff like snacks and Christmas stuff,” Brandon Day, sophomore, said.

Not every family does this tradition but certain families have their own ways of doing Elf on the Shelf.
