New Playground Equipment Review

Wednesday, I made a trip to the elementary playground to test out some of the new equipment. It has been a while since I have been to the elementary, let alone played on the playground. I decided it would be a good idea to go test out the new equipment and let high school students know if the new equipment is worth the walk.

First, I made my way to the new jungle gym set. It was very enjoyable. There were some things I would change though, like making the tall, spinny looking things spin.  I guess that could lead to some injuries,  but I rate it an 8 out of 10.

Then I went to the ball basket thingy. Technically you throw a ball in there, and it will come out through some random hole for someone else to potentially catch. It was pretty fun, but it would have been better if the ball didn’t keep getting stuck. It is really fun because I could just imagine a kid getting hit in the head with a ball, and it made my day. This one gets a 9 out of 10

I was fond of the swings because they were high up and easier to swing on. They also did not make a loud squeaking sound like they were about to break when I was a swing on them, so 7 out of 10 for the new swings.

I would also like to point out that now they have woodchips instead of rock. The chips are way softer to land on, but not as fun to throw at people, but a nice touch. 5 out of 10 for the wood chips.

I then wandered over to the blue thing with holes. I have no idea how to play on it. Do I stand in it? Crawl around on it? Who knows? I tried to play on it the best I could but It was hard to enjoy it. Maybe the mind of an elementary child could figure out how to play on it, but not me, so 2 out of 10 on its best day.

Finally, I took a breath at the shade place. It was nice having a cool area to take a break-in.OK, it would be nice to have a shady spot to cool off, but it was 50 degrees when I was playing. It will be nice in the spring and summertime gathering a 5 out of 10.
