Totally Tubular Tarot

Tarot cards are the coolest type of cards known to man. Tarot cards are decks of 78 cards both in the major and minor arcana. The major arcana are composed of 22 trump cards–cards that have a higher meaning or count than the other cards.

Tarot cards were originally created as a form of entertainment. Later on, the cards were used to predict things. Tarot cards are very blunt and sometimes they can hurt people’s feelings, I know they hurt mine.

Like everything used in this world, tarot cards have myths surrounding them. One of the biggest and well known myths is that a tarot deck has to be gifted. That is not true. A tarot deck can be bought and used by the same person. Another myth is that a reader can’t let anyone else touch their cards. It may be a personal preference to not let people touch your own cards, but nothing bad will happen if someone does.

I love my tarot cards. I got them from Spunky Cauldron in Oklahoma City. The first reading I did on myself almost knocked my socks off. It was so precise in the reading that it honestly frightened me. It told me to stop and think about the stuff I do before I do it to avoid making stupid desisions.

A user must also cleanse the cards and do a Past, Present, and Future spread.

Once you get your hands on a deck of tarot cards, cleanse the energy out of them by shuffling and turning the cards upside down at random. Keep the cards that are turned. They are supposed to be like that. After a few shuffles the cards are cleansed and are ready to be used. When you go to use the cards, shuffle them again to put the energy back into the cards. Once the shuffling is done, knock three times on the deck. Pick three cards, and it doesn’t matter if you draw them from the top, bottom, or middle of the deck. Place the three cards face down and flip them sideways to reveal the face of the card. Use a handy dandy tarot card book to interpret the individual cards. It doesn’t matter how the cards are laid down as long as the present card is in the middle of the past and future card.
