How to Stay Motivated with 5 Weeks of School Left

With only five weeks left it can be hard to stay focused and motivated. Most students are finished trying after the State Test and get summeritis. Here are some tips to help stay focused and motivated.

1. Get plenty of sleep.

Do not stay up till 1 or 2 a.m. Getting enough rest is very important for a person’s brain. It can affect mental health, physical health, quality of life, and safety.

2. Find something to look forward to.

Look forward to the weekend if nothing else. It is two days students get out of school. Back when Canton had football/basketball games, I would always look forward to going to them.

3. Set goals.

Without any goals what’s even the point? If students want to stay in Canton their whole life then go ahead. Think about life after high school and how it can be possible.

4. Do not procrastinate.

Don’t lie, everyone knows it’s not going to get done later. It is better to get stuff done sooner than later. Procrastination can lead to depression.

5. Realize the consequences.

If that doesn’t scare students I don’t know what will. Who wants to have to retake classes because students stopped trying and were not motivated?
