Oh my god, the Demon Slayer movie is amazing. I had high expectations of this movie going into it, and they were exceeded. Let’s just get right into it.  First of all, the movie is just absolutely beautiful with stunning animation. I thought I was in the wrong movie theater when I saw the first 25 seconds of the movie because it looked like it was live-action.

This movie was just gorgeous. Every single scene is a masterpiece. Seeing it in a movie theater with the full IMAX helped the experience. I sat right in the center of the theater, so the screen looked like it was covering my whole peripheral vision and helped immerse me into the movie even more.

There is so much hype in this movie. This movie puts the throttle all the way to the floor and never lets up. It is exciting at every point in the movie, especially in the second half. Once the movie passes the halfway point, it never slows down not even for a second, and it is such a gorgeous journey.

Every single fight, every single movement of the characters, every attack is beautiful. I love the way the animators and directors play with color in the movie. I can’t even explain it’s just so wonderful to look at. There was so much passion clearly put into the animation to make it look like this that I’m so happy to see be appreciated by many because it is on another level. This movie is absolutely next-level animation.

Now there is CG, that is going to turn off a lot of people, I know, but I think the CG is used just fine. It’s not glaring or terrible, there is a bit of jank to it occasionally, but it’s not like it’s that big of a deal. It does not take the viewer out of the movie or ruin the experience especially when everything is as good as it is in the movie.

Demon Slayer, the anime, not the movie, always gets credit for its beauty, and for good reason, because it is truly incredible. This movie amps it up to the next level. It is so good visually.

This is an actual canon movie in the storyline. My big complaint about anime movies, and why I do not bother to go and see them is that most of them have zero effect on the actual storyline at all. It has no effect on the lore, the universe, or anything for the most part. The Demon Slayer movie is extremely important. It picks up right after season one ended, and it continues the story and it gets the viewer to the next point where it is clearly going to be picked up in season two.

All of it is a very canon-meaningful journey, that has a lot of weight to it and a lot of important events that happen. It does not feel like the protagonist goes on this journey that will never be talked about or referenced or have any impact on the show. I got to see this beautiful adventure and see where it all goes into the next season.

I am so glad they decided to condense this little story arc into a movie because if they didn’t, it probably would have been like four to six episodes long in a season. I much prefer this than a

short little season. If someone jumps straight into this movie without watching the anime first thinking that they will enjoy it just like I did, they are absolutely wrong. They will be confused and lost so if someone is planning on watching this movie, I highly recommend they watch the anime first, they will not regret it.
