Shrek the Musical was an Experience

This last weekend my choir class put on Shrek the Musical. We worked very hard to get everything ready and have all our lines memorized. Everyone has been working on this musical since January, and we finally performed it four months later. It took lots of after-school time for rehearsals, and many of us missed some of our classes during the day.

We got many compliments from people who came and watched. We surprisingly had an amazing turnout. There were many times that we messed up, forgot a line, and even improvised just to get it over with.

During the play, we alluded to other movies, but most people didn’t get it. For example, Luke Foster, who played Lord Farquad, would say, “Where is she?” into his arm just like Batman did.

Overall, I think we could have done better if we memorized lines a little more and got more into character. Everyone was scared to actually get really into their character and just be completely crazy.

I am so thankful that I got to be in this play with all these amazing people. We have become more like a family than just friends.
