Bridge Construction is Almost Complete

After one painstaking year of construction and waiting, the Minnehaha bridge is finally in the process of reopening. Construction on the Minnehaha bridge started September 8th, 2020, and is finally nearing completion.

“As for when the bridge construction will be finished, according to the contractor, it’s supposed to be 240 calendar days from when construction began. It started roughly September 8th, and it’s supposed to be finished by June,” Jason Wallace, former high school principal, said.

Many people including students, teachers, and the general public are ready for the bridge to be finished and for regular traffic to resume. A giant line forms from the bridge all the way down into the school parking lot as people have to wait for the light to turn green.

“I think it has drug on for way too long, they just need to hurry it up already,” Mr. Barney, English teacher, said.

The bridge construction has also been disrupting students’ schedules when it comes to getting to school on time, along with the general public’s commutes to work and or errands they have to run.

Even though the bridge construction has been disrupting everyone’s day, it will be nice to see a brand new bridge over the Minnehaha creek. It does look better than what it did originally but, people seemingly only have one thing to say about the bridge.

“Get it done, I’m ready for two lanes!” Mrs. Heath, history teacher, said.
