Much Improved Tigers Fall Short Against Geary

On Thursday night, August 31, the Canton Tigers faced off against the Geary Bison. The stands for the Tigers’ side were full of people cheering for the Tigers.

Coach Claborn told the team, “We are playing a much better team than Cherokee, but we are not going to give up.” The kickoff started at seven and Canton received the ball. The Tigers’ drive fell short after an interception.

After Canton went on defense, Geary scored first . Not long after, Canton answered and scored a touchdown to tie up the score. Then before the first quarter was over, Geary made another touchdown.

Going into the second quarter the Tigers held Geary for most of the quarter, but Geary made a touchdown within the last two seconds of the half. The score at the end of the first half was Canton 8 and Geary 24.

Coming out into the second half, the Tigers gave it everything they had. The Tigers scored two more touchdowns in the second half, but so did Geary.

The final score of the game was Canton 20 and Geary 38.
