The pre-season of the Esports competition began this week to help students get familiar with the systems. Canton participated in matches against Cyril and Ada.

Monday, February 7, Canton High School’s Esports team competed against Cyril In the games Mario Kart 8 and Madden22. The Mario Kart 8 team consisted of Bree Simon, Jake Foster, Noah Ross, and Addisyn Smith. Canton lost 56-169 against Cyril in a six round game. The Madden22 players consisted of Connor Cox, Will Blood, and Jacob Rutz. They each played individual matches against three Cyril players. In all three matches our three players lost against Cyril.

On Tuesday, February 8, Canton High School competed against Ada High School in the game League of Legends. The League of Legends team consisted of Noah Ross, Jake Foster, Bree Simon, Addisyn Smith, and Sariah Vargas. The match was the first team to win two matches in which Canton lost 0-2.

On Thursday, February 10, Canton played against Cyril High School in the game Rocket League. The Rocket League team included Solomon Vargas, Tanner Coble, and Johnny Berton with Vance Ross and Sariah Varga on the bench. The Rocket League team won against Cyril’s team.

Next week will start the beginning of the season.
