Cross Country Fares Well at Watonga

Saturday morning the elementary, jr high, and high school girls loaded the bus to head to Watonga to run cross country. Garrett Nippert and Shy Cauble also joined the Canton cross country team.

The boys ran a 5k, and the elementary girls ran a mile.  The jr high ran one and a half miles, and high school ran two miles. The morning was humid and cool. The girls ran well, with 8 kids from Canton Schools placing in this cross country meet.

5th grader Alexus Meat placed first, and  Imiyah Littlejohn placed second. Other girls who medaled were Stella Redhat, Stevie Rogers, Anna Trehan, and Alethia McIntosh.

Hanna Noble placed 7th in the JV race and improved her time.  Shy Cauble placed 13th in the boys JV race.

LaShayla Green was our highest varsity finisher placing 21th out of 121.  Taylor Dowell and Arianna Green also ran in the varsity race, along with Garrett Nippert running in the JV race.

The Canton Schools 6th graders ran in the 6th-8th grade middle school race with, Ariel Green. This meet was the longest our middle school girls have raced, running 1.5 miles. The middle school race had 137 total. Other runners in the middle school girls race were Jadine Chervenke, Jacie Murray, Alexa Delgado, Kassidee Pope, Blair Dowell,  and Kiley Stricklin.
