Tigers Defeat Longhorns in Overtime

Tuesday, January 25, the Canton Tigers played the Dover Longhorns.

To start the game, player Luke Foster won the jump and started the Tiger offense. Total points for this quarter were Tigers 9 and Longhorns 12.

For the second quarter, points were close as well with the Tigers scoring 10 and the Longhorns putting up 12. This put the score at halftime to Tigers 19 and Longhorns 24.

During the third quarter, the Tiger offense scored 10 more points, and the Longhorns scored 14.

In the last quarter, the Tigers made a comeback, scoring 15 points and keeping the Longhorns addition down to 6. This brought both teams to 44 points by the time the buzzer went off.

Foster won the overtime jump as well, giving the Tigers the offensive advantage to start. The overtime minutes were tough, but the Tigers prevailed, scoring 6 points while Dover scored 4. The ending score was Tigers 50 and Longhorns 48.

The Tigers play again Friday, January 28, against Cherokee at Canton. This game is also Canton’s Senior Night.
