Canton Tigers Defeat Geary Bison In A Close Game

On February 5th, the Canton Tigers traveled to Geary to play their last game of the season against the Geary Bison.

At the beginning of the game, the Tigers started off with the ball winning the jump. The Tigers ran their offense but turned over the ball. The Bison started off with the starting points, scoring two. The Tigers, however, were able to draw fouls and made a one for one.

In the second quarter, the Bison started off with the ball. The Tigers played good defense trying to not allow the Bisons’ best players to score. The Tigers on offense were able to catch up to the Bison with the help of Cooper Evans and Shy Cauble, making three-pointers.

After halftime, the Tigers came out ready to beat the Bison. The Tigers started off with the ball, trying to get the post open for a layup or jump shot. The Tigers, however, were not passing effectively, and the Bison were able to pick off certain passes and make a layup.

During the final quarter, the Tigers started off in defense. The Tigers were playing their best not letting the Bison score threes or layups. The Tigers on offense started shooting three-pointers to catch up to the Bison. The Tigers were drawing fouls but were unable to make every shot. In the final seconds of the game, the Tigers were on defense. The Bison were so close to winning the game, but Garrett Nippert stole the winning pass right when the buzzer rang.

The final score of the game was Canton Tigers 52 and Geary Bison 51. Despite this being the last game of the season, the Tigers will be playing in area on Friday against Fargo.
