Horror Movies Have Made Me, Well, Me

Horror Movies Have Made Me, Well, Me

While other kids grew up watching Dora the Explorer, I grew up watching Chucky and Jason. The classic slasher films that were not appropriate for children were my way of keeping entertained throughout my childhood.
One of my earliest memories I have about scary movies is getting mad at my family for not letting me watch The Crazies, a movie about people going nuts after drinking contaminated water.
I grew up watching rated R horror movies when I was younger, from slashers to paranormal to monsters. I am still always watching horror films. Child’s Play is another movie I would watch, even though the movie made me tie up my dolls at night, the Chucky movies were a big part of my childhood.
My fear of the dark came from watching Don’t be Afraid of the Dark, the movie is about little creatures who collect the teeth of children. The creatures can’t stand bright lights, therefore they attack humans who are in dark areas. It nearly kills me to walk through the kitchen in the dark. I am afraid something is going to slit my ankle tendons and murder me.
Watching scary movies when I was barely out of my fetus years had both good and bad impacts on my life. I have a fear of the dark, but I also can watch as many horror films as I want and sleep peacefully.
