Canton Football Team Attends First Scrimmage of the Year
Friday, August 20, the Canton High School football team started their season off by attending their first scrimmage of the school year at Cherokee.
“I think it went well. There is nothing we wouldn’t be able to work on with repetition and get better at with repetition,” Caleb Howell, football coach, said
At the scrimmage, they played five other teams, including Cherokee, Deer Creek, Medford, Balko, and Tyrone.
“This scrimmage tells me that we have plenty of things we need to get better at to be a good football team, but they are coachable. Everything that was an issue is things that can be fixed with repetition, so I feel like there is hope for a good season after this,” Davie Smith, assistant football coach, said.
The football team will play their first game this Friday, August 27 at Okeene.
