On Thursday 24th Canton FCCLA members traveled to Oklahoma City for the state meeting. While at the meeting the members attended workshops, and listened to guest speaker, Nick Scott.

I really enjoyed listening to Nick talk, he is definitely one of my favorite speakers I have heard. Overall it was a great time and I am glad I was allowed to go,” Kylie Nix, FCCLA Vice President of Activities, said. 

Nick Scott is a professional powerlifter and has been on Dancing With the Stars. Scott has been paralyzed from the waist down since he got into a car accident in high school. Scott talked about the struggles he faced and how he overcame them. The students also got to hear many other great speakers while there.   

“It was way more fun than I thought it would be, and it was definitely a lot better than last year.” Kalli Lawrence, FCCLA member, said. 

After the convention, the students went to Main Event.
