CHS’s Track Team is Going to State

Imiyah Littlejohn participates in the 1600 meter relay at the Okeene track meet.

The Canton High School track team competed in the regional track meet at Cherokee on Saturday, April 30. 

The girls who qualified for state are Aletheia Mcintosh, Imiyah Littlejohn, Blair Dowell, and Aubrey Cheney all in the 1600 meter relay. Madison Rauh is an alternate. Littlejohn and Dowell also qualified in the 300 hurdles. Littlejohn also qualified in long jump. Dowell qualified in the high jump and 100 hurdles. 

The boys going to state are Cody Hooten, Luke Swartwood, Brandon Day, and Hudsen Scott, all in the 4×100 meter relay. William Mcintosh as an alternate.

“No, I don’t feel prepared. If anything I feel underprepared but I think that’s just my nerves getting the best of me. My coaches are great and I wouldn’t even be going to state if they hadn’t helped me prepare,” Littlejohn stated.

The state track meet will take place at Western Heights on Friday and Saturday.
