Tuesday May 4, the FCCLA students and 5th graders traveled to Cherokee, Oklahoma for Stomp Out Starvation where they packed meals for starving people in Haiti.

Inside the meal bags were one scoop of vitamin powder, one scoop of soy, one scoop of dried vegetables, and then to top it off, a scoop of rice. Each bag had to weigh a certain amount and be sealed air tight for shipping.

“It was a really fun experience and I’m thankful that I got to go with Mrs. Haub and all the fifth graders and I hope we made an impact,” Kylie Nix, senior, said.

Afterwards they ate at a quick stop with a Sonic and Subway inside.
