CHS Recognizes Homecoming Court

The 2022 Football Homecoming Court- McKayla Howerton, junior princess; Jordan Dossey, sophomore princess; Nadia Luna, freshman princess. Will Blood, king candidate; Lea Vowell, queen candidate; Amanda Schoonmaker, queen candidate; Hannah Evans, queen candidate; Jacob Rutz, king candidate. Last week the freshmen, sophomore, and junior classes voted for their Homecoming princesses.

The freshman princess is Nadia Luna. Nadia is the 14 year old daughter of Joni McDonald and Polo Luna. Nadia’s plan after high school is to do competitive cheer or to be a doctor. Her favorite class is music. Her awards and honors are 2nd place in National History Day. Activities and organizations she has been involved in are media for 1 year and choir for 2 years. 

The sophomore princess is Jordan Dossey. Jordan is the 16 year old daughter of Colleen Crauthers and Gary Dean Crauthers. Jordan’s plan after high school is to pursue her dreams of being a professional artist and singer. Her favorite classes are choir and science. Activities and organizations she has been involved in are choir for 4 years, art for 3 years, FCCLA for 2 years, STUCO for 1 year, esports for 1 year, Spanish 1 year, and basketball for 2 years.

The junior princess is McKayla Howerton. McKayla is the 16 year old daughter of Colby Howerton, Ashley Kershner, and her stepmom Jodene Howerton. McKayla’s plan after high school is to go to college for architecture and to travel a lot. Her favorite class is any class with the Barneys. Activities and organizations she has been involved in are media for 3 years, NHD for 4 years, cheer for 1 year, speech for 1 year, and FCCLA for 2 years.

The football team nominated and chose three candidates for queen from the senior girls.

The first senior queen candidate is Lea Vowell. Lea is the 17 year old daughter of Chris Vowell and Jodi Nelson Vowell. Lea’s plan after high school is to go to college and major in psychology. Her favorite class is Mr. Cox’s math class. Activities and organizations she has been involved in are cheer for 4 years, STUCO for 4 years, FCCLA for 4 years, Tiger Media for 4 years, choir for 4 years, art Club for 2 years, and history day for 1 year.

Another queen candidate is Hannah Evans. Hannah is the 17 year old daughter of Zack and Marisa Evans. Hannah’s plan after high school is to attend NOC and OSU. Her favorite classes are choir and art. Her awards and honors are several 1 rantings in band and choir, several art awards, awards in community service, several leadership,  and V.I.P awards. Activities and organizations she has been involved in are NHS for 3 years, STUCO for 2 years, academic team for 2 years, Thespians 4 years, Key Club for 2 years, softball for 2 years, volleyball mgr 1 year, art club 2 years, 4-H for 3 years, FFA for 3 years, and pep band 2 years.

The third queen candidate is Amanda Schoonmaker. Amanda is the 17 year old daughter of James and Melinda Schoonmaker. Amanda’s plan after high school is to  go to college. Her favorite class is sixth hour ag class. Her awards and honors are Vo-Tech Honor Society, FFA president for 2 years, history day, and class officer. Activities and organizations she has been involved in are FFA for 4 years, basketball for 4 years, football manager for 4 years. 

The king candidates from the senior players are as follows:

Connor Cox is the 17 year old son of Mark and Amy Cox. His favorite class is esports with Coach Smith. His awards and honors are All Conference Basketball. Activities and organizations he has been involved in are football for 4 years, basketball for 4 years, esports 2 years, FFA for 4 years, FCCLA for 1 year, art club for 2 years, and NHS for 2 years. 

Luke Foster is the 18 year old son of Melina Foster and LD Foster. His favorite class is trig with Mr. Cox.

Will McIntosh is the 18 year old son of Travis and Jennifer McIntosh. His favorite class is chemistry.

Brandon Day  is the 17 year old son of Cara and Cody Day. His favorite class is chemistry. Activities and organizations he has been involved in are football for 4 years, track for 4 years, and power lifting for 1 year.

Jacob Rutz  is the 17 year old son of Amanda Dow and Paul Rutz. Jacob’s plan after high school is to go to college and become a history teacher. His favorite class is government with Mr. Mesis. His awards and honors are sophomore and junior All-District Underclass lineman and NHD in 8th grade. Activities and organizations he has been involved in are football since 5th grade, FFA for 4 years, art club for 3 years, NHS for 1 year, and esports for 2 years.

Will Blood is the 17 year old son of James and Charity Blood. Will’s plan after high school is to go to college and become a game warden. His favorite class is Ag. His awards and honors are defensive player of the year and underclassmen All District line backer. Activities and organizations he has been involved in are FFA for 4 years, football for 4 years, and track for 4 years.

Hudsen Scott is the 18 year old son of April and Darren Scott. His favorite class is trig with Mr. Cox. His awards and honors are tiger award, chapter FFA degree, green hand award, and first semester president honor roll. Activities and organizations he has been involved in are FFA for 4 years, basketball for 4 years, football for 4 years, NHS for 2 years, and track for 4 years.

King and queen coronation will be at 6:30 Friday night before the homecoming game.
