Art Students Win at Paul Laune Memorial School Art Competition

The art class competed in the 43rd Annual Paul Laune Memorial School Art Competition. The contest is sponsored by The Plains Indians & Pioneers Museum. The competition is open to all high school students (7th to 12th grades) with or without an art teacher within a 200-mile radius of Woodward, OK.
Thirty five Canton students participated, and 10 were accepted into the show. Categories included but were not limited to oil and acrylic painting, pencil and ink drawing, pottery and sculpture, and others.
Canton winners were:
Marci Kopf, junior, won first place.
Keylea Denton, senior, and Kylie Carrasco, junior, won second place.
Hannah Evans, senior, won third place.
Jarrett Snow, junior, got an honorable mention.
“I felt really good because I rarely get to win anything,” Snow, junior, said.
