On October 3rd, 2017, members of FCCLA took a trip to Cherokee for the North One District Leadership Meeting. The students left the school at 8:00 a.m., and wore their new FCCLA t-shirts. This year’s theme was Camp Leadership.

Schools such as Alva, Cherokee, Fairview, Freedom, and fourteen other schools attended the meeting. The students enjoyed the door prizes and the games. They were also delighted to hear the guest speaker, Kelly Barnes.

Kelly Barnes is a speaker who has traveled all over the United States and has spoken to more than a million students, educators, and business leaders. Kelly made us laugh, made us think, and most importantly, made us realize the good things we do on a daily basis. Going to the meeting was a great experience for the students to learn what it means to be a leader.
