NBA Season Opener

The 2017-2018 NBA season started October 17 with the Boston Celtics and the Cleveland Cavaliers at Cleveland. Kyrie Irving, who used to play for Cleveland but is now playing for Boston, got booed at Cleveland as he was warming up before the game. Kyrie and Lebron had some disagreements while Kyrie was still with Cleveland, which was why Kyrie wanted to be traded. Before the game started, Lebron and Kyrie bumped fists while they were getting ready for tip-off.

During the game, Celtics star forward Gordon Hayward broke his left ankle while back-cutting to the basket for a lay-up. Hayward will likely need surgery and a lengthy rehabilitation. After the injury, other players across the United States started sending out prayers on Twitter and wishing him a good recovery so he can return for the 2018-2019 season.

Cleveland took a win on their home court winning by three.

After the Cleveland and Boston game, the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets played at Golden State. The Warriors celebrated before the game while getting their championship rings for the 2016-2017 season. They have won two championships in the last three years, losing to Cleveland the 2015-2016 season.

During the first quarter, Golden State’s Klay Thompson was on fire having nine points in the first couple of minutes after the game started. At halftime, the Warriors were up 71-62. Draymond Green didn’t play any of the fourth quarter due to a left knee strain, which hurt the Warriors a lot. The Warriors ended up losing 122-121 on their home court, a disappointing loss for the Warriors and their fans.

This 2017-2018 season will definitely be something to watch with all the trades everyone made. The Warriors definitely won’t have an easy win this year.
