Canton media advisers, Mr. and Mrs. Barney, took fourteen Tiger Media students to the Fall Media Monday, Oklahoma Scholastic Media’s 102nd conference and contest at the University of Oklahoma on Monday, October 30th. This year’s theme was The Power of our Publication.

After leaving at seven in the morning, each student took four classes of their choice to help them with pictures and writing for the yearbook and the newspaper. They ate at the Student Union on campus for lunch.

Tiger Media also went to the OSM awards ceremony. The 2017 Tiger yearbook staff won the following: Roxey Linder- first place in sports feature photo and third place in student life photo; Sierra Conrady- second place for portrait page, third place in sports action photo, honorable mention for sports spread;  Rebecca Roberts- second place student-life spread. Canton Yearbook won first place in honors as a staff.

Yearbook adviser Mrs. Barney said, “I am proud of last year’s staff. They put in countless hours and many long nights putting the 2017 yearbook together.” Caden Koehn said, “My favorite class was Photoshop because I learned how to photoshop my pictures.”
