Hats Off to the Hat Parade

The 5th and 6th-grade students participated in a hat parade.

Each student was assigned a vocabulary word and was required to design a hat that explained the meaning of his/her word. When asked what she learned from this experience, Imiyah Littlejohn said, “It showed me how to be creative.”

On Tuesday, October 31st, the students presented their hats in front of three judges. The judges decided who the winners would be based on creativity, how well their hat showed the meaning of their word, and how much work they put into it.

The winners of the parade were Addisyn Smith, Lastarza Fourhorns, Imiyah Littlejohn, Hayden Thompson, Kasidee Pope, Nakai Fourhorns, and Blaire Dowell.

Mrs. Fuqua thought this activity would “show the students how to make a connection with important vocabulary words in a fun way.”
