McPhail Attends Conference

Canton principal, Adam McPhail, attended the Association for Middle-Level Education in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania last week. McPhail left Sunday, November 5 and came back Thursday, November 9.

The Association for Middle-Level Education (AMLE) is an international education association dedicated exclusively to the middle-level grades. With more than 30,000 members in the United States, Canada, and 46 other countries, AMLE represents principals, teachers, central office personnel, professors, college students, parents, community leaders, and educational consultants. In addition, AMLE’s network includes 58 affiliates in the United States, Canada, Europe, and Australia that serve regional, state, provincial, and local needs.

“The biggest cultural difference was that there were many different foods there,” said Adam McPhail.

He also added, “Our school size allows us to reach out to more school kids for one on one time. They also get to know each student on a personal level.”

“There are a few opportunities that a small school cannot offer due to our small faculty,” said McPhail.

McPhail also said, “There is no silver bullet to fix education. I just want our faculty to continue to come to work every day and teach all hour, every hour.”

“It was a good experience, I enjoyed it. It was good for me to be able to have conversations with other middle-level educators,” said Adam McPhail.
