Canton Junior High Team Loses to Watonga Eagles

On January 23, the Canton Tigers junior high team played against the Watonga Eagles. The Tigers would be playing 7th and 8th graders only.

At the beginning of the game, the Tigers were unable to get the ball. The Tigers started in defense and were able to steal the ball from the Eagles. The Tigers were able to get the first two points in the game and were able to play good defense.

In the second quarter, the Tigers started off with the ball but were unable to get points because they were beaten on defense. The Tigers then again brought the ball down the court, but again were unable to score.

After halftime, the Tigers started off in defense and were able to make Watonga turn-over the ball. The Tigers were able to get past the Eagles’ pressing defense and were able to score a few more points. The Eagles were able to make up for their bad defense and scored more points to stay ahead of the game.

In the final quarter, the Tigers subbed in their second team in the middle of the fourth quarter. The Tigers’ second team was able to play great defense against the Eagles’ starting players. Nathan Janda was open for two three-pointers, but he missed both. However, each shot bounced off the rim.

The final score of the game was Canton Tigers 7 and Watonga Eagles 38.
